Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and friendly Hotel Receptionist to join our front desk team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, responsible for delivering exceptional guest services and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a vibrant hospitality environment, providing support to guests throughout their stay and assisting with various administrative tasks.

Duties

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in and check-out procedures
Handle guest enquiries via phone, email, and in person with professionalism and courtesy
Manage reservations, cancellations, and modifications efficiently using hotel management software
Provide information about hotel facilities, local attractions, and services to enhance guest experience
Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest rooms are prepared to high standards
Process payments accurately and maintain detailed records of transactions
Address guest concerns promptly, escalating issues when necessary to ensure satisfaction
Maintain a tidy and organised reception area at all times
Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and reporting as required

Qualifications

Proven experience in hotel reception or customer service roles is preferred but not essential
Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills are essential
Strong organisational abilities with attention to detail
Knowledge of hotel management software is advantageous
A friendly demeanour with a professional appearance and attitude
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations diplomatically
Previous experience in hospitality or guest services will be considered an asset

This position offers an engaging work environment within the hospitality industry, ideal for individuals passionate about delivering outstanding guest experiences. 21 hours a week available on reception, but could be combined with working in other hotel departments (bar/restaurant/housekeeping) if more hours are required.

Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
