Full job description

Reading Office – Law Firm

We are looking for a candidate to be front of house covering reception at our busy law firm in Reading town centre. Albin & Co are an established law firm covering criminal, prison and family law matters.

The firm take pride in being able to provide a personal service to our clients and offer clients face to face appointments. The firm also assist a diverse range of clients, covering both private and legal aid work.

Our receptionist will be expected to be responsible for answering calls to the firm, take messages, initial client enquiries for all departments and open cases on our online system.

The candidate would be the first port of call for clients either via telephone or in person. The role requires responsibility for the conference rooms, booking appointments and assisting clients when they attend for meetings.

In addition to the receptionist role, the candidate will have the ability to share some secretarial responsibilities with the secretarial team.

It is essential that the candidate has strong communication skills, organisation and accuracy to detail.

Skills to be considered for this role:

· Previous experience in a secretary/administrator role.

· Excellent IT skills including the ability to utilise a case management system

· Excellent organisational skills

· Flexible in your working approach with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.

· Comfortable dealing with a diverse pool of people

· Strong sense of discretion

· Previous experience of audio typing with digital dictation software

Duties including:

· Answering the telephone

· Taking new client enquiries

· General administration duties and dealing with correspondence

· Diary management including diarising key dates and organising appointments

· Shared secretarial duties

· Correlation of documents and bundles

· Audio typing general correspondence and legal documents

· Organising appointments
