Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Metal Shop Operative to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the fabrication, assembly, and finishing of metal components. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on skills within a dynamic workshop environment.
Duties
- Assist with sheet metal cutting, bending, and forming processes
- Use basic mathematical skills to measure, mark, and verify component dimensions accurately
- Support the assembly of metal components into finished products or sub-assemblies
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Inspect finished work for quality assurance and report any defects or issues
- Operate CNC machinery and other metal shop equipment if required
- Keep stock of metal components
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge of tools, tooling, and equipment used in metalworking environments
- Proficiency with hand tools and sheet metal working techniques
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Previous experience using an LLOP or similar warehouse equipment preferred
