ITH Construction Limited was first established in 2013 and is a construction/civil engineering company based in Narberth that specialises in infrastructure, building small to medium size housing developments, extensions and building work throughout Pembrokeshire. The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Civils Supervisor to take responsibility for construction projects, ensuring effective preparation of resources and requirements and monitor progress to ensure the project meets its quality, timeframe and cost targets. This role is essential for building and maintaining client relationships, ensuring workload for the operatives is available and ensuring health and safety practices are followed.
Responsibilities include:
· Attend site visits for new and existing customers to price up jobs, ensuring the correct materials/resources including labour allowances are accounted for and working alongside the Quantity Surveyor to issue a quotation and follow up with customers on whether the job has been won
· Organise current and upcoming workloads, working to ensure that there is enough work available and that operatives/equipment/resources are organised ahead of jobs to ensure they run smoothly and to the time scale quoted to the customer
· Ensuring information on quality is being captured by operatives/foremen and are being recorded accurately, it is this roles responsibility to assess this documentation and work towards continuous improvement
· Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and method statements
· Set out works using appropriate surveying equipment
· To ensure that foreman is completing their daily daywork sheets accurately and with all of the necessary information, ensuring materials, equipment, plant and machinery are all accounted for
· Liaise with customers to answer queries and communicate effectively ahead of and throughout projects
· Work alongside other internal departments such as transport, operations and surfacing to ensure operations are prepared for upcoming workloads
· Produce draft RAMS as and when needed, sending them to the health and safety team for review and sign off before issuing
· Ensure operative teams are always following health and safety measures and best practice
· Ensure internal policies are followed by operatives/foremen/supervisors), liaising with HR as needed in relation to absences, misconduct or capability and addressing issues as necessary
· Check timesheets weekly to ensure they are accurate where required
· Assist with ensuring My Compliance is up to date, completing any assigned actions and flagging if any necessary training is required with HSEQ
· Ensuring key paperwork is submitted by the team including daily vehicle checks
Required qualifications/experience:
· SMSTS
· At least a Level 4 qualification in construction management or equivalent qualification (desirable)
· IOSH Managing Safely (desirable)
· Full UK driving license
· Health, safety & compliance
· At least 3 years’ experience of leadership and management
· At least 3 years of working within a civils supervisor role
