Full job description

Job Overview

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our catering team. You will support the Chef in preparing and serving nutritious meals while helping to maintain a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environment for our residents.

Duties

Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and refreshments.
Help with basic food preparation under the direction of the Cook or Chef.
Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining areas and food preparation surfaces.
Ensure food is stored correctly and stock is rotated where required.
Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
Follow food hygiene, infection prevention and health and safety procedures at all times.
Dispose of waste safely and keep the kitchen clean and organised.
Work as part of the catering team to provide a high-quality service to residents.
Carry out any other reasonable duties within the role.

Requirements

Previous catering or kitchen experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling is desirable.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, hardworking and well organised.
Able to work efficiently in a busy environment.
A caring, respectful and positive approach towards residents, relatives and colleagues.

Pay: £12.71-£12.85 per hour
