Hybrid - 3 days in office per week, near Carmarthen
We’re looking for a hands-on Lead Software Engineer to help build and scale a modern cloud-first platform within a fast-growing, technology-driven business.
This is a key leadership role where you’ll help shape engineering standards, architecture, delivery practices and team culture as the business continues to scale its in-house engineering capability.
You’ll lead a small international team of engineers, working closely with product, data and infrastructure teams to deliver high-quality, scalable software in a fast-moving environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and mentoring a small engineering team
- Driving best practice across architecture, CI/CD, automated testing and secure coding
- Building scalable cloud-native solutions in Microsoft Azure
- Working closely with stakeholders to turn business requirements into technical delivery
- Exploring and implementing new technologies, including AI-assisted development tools
- Helping shape engineering culture, standards and future hiring
Tech Stack & Experience
- Strong experience with:
- Microsoft Azure
- C#
- Kubernetes / AKS
- SQL & NoSQL databases
- CI/CD pipelines & automated testing
- Strong understanding of scalable architecture and secure development practices
- Proven experience leading and mentoring engineers in a high-performing environment
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
