Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Working Farm Manager to oversee daily operations on a diverse agricultural estate. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing land use including grassland, biodiversity projects, woodland, as well overseeing maintenace of estate properties, equipment maintenance, and general farm management tasks. Cropping is contracted out. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for sustainable farming practices and hands-on management to contribute to the growth and efficiency of our rural enterprise. The position is well paid and suitable for individuals with a strong work ethic and relevant experience in farm operations. Flexibility and a 'can do' attitude is a must.

Duties

Oversee daily farm and estate activities inc. grassland and Biodiversity projects
Manage upkeep of estate properties
Manage small estate team and contractors
Perform routine equipment repairs and maintenance using power tools and hand tools
Operate and repair mechanical equipment essential for farm operations
Oversee and maintain Health and Safety policy and records
Keep all areas neat, tidy and safe
Utilise basic maths skills for measuring, scheduling, and record keeping
Conduct heavy lifting of supplies, feed, or equipment as required
Maintain accurate records

Qualifications

Proven experience in farm management or agricultural operations including sprayer qualifications (PA1, PA2, PA6)
Mechanical knowledge with the ability to repair and maintain equipment using power tools and hand tools
Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan tasks effectively
Physical fitness capable of heavy lifting and performing manual labour over extended periods
Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and record keeping
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in outdoor environments
Relevant qualifications or certifications in agriculture, horticulture, or animal husbandry are advantageous but not essential

This role offers a rewarding opportunity for a proactive individual eager to manage all aspects of a working farm while ensuring sustainable practices are maintained.

Pay: £40,000.00 per year
