Founded in 2014, Border Control is a small, family run soft landscaping and garden maintenance company based in the Vale of Belvoir near Bingham, Nottinghamshire. We provide a full domestic garden service from initial design through to planting and ongoing maintenance, no commercial work. Our overall goal is to develop our clients’ gardens over time, whether they want a border reinvigorating, a brand new planting design or general upkeep.
We’re looking for a keen and enthusiastic person to join us full-time, Monday - Friday 8.30 till 17.00, who has a true love of gardening. Horticultural knowledge is beneficial for this role. It doesn't have to be from professional experience, as great gardeners often learn the most about horticulture from their own garden. Additionally, we often take on hedge maintenance so willingness to get involved with the use of power tools and ladders is also a bonus. You’ll be part of one of 3 lovely teams working under a Team Leader.
Our team consists of qualified horticulturalists, garden designers, wildlife enthusiasts and current green fingered students keen to gain experience.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in some or all of the following:
- Hands on preparation of gardens ready for planting or hard landscapers
- Planting
- On-going maintenance which includes mowing, weeding, pruning, hedge cutting
- Planting plans including appropriate selection and ordering
- Upkeep of work transport and tools
We work all year round which means we do work in inclement weather.
You must be able to commute to NG13 as there is no public transport, there is free parking available.
