Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic Baker / Bakery Assistant to join our established bakery team of three.
This is ideally a full-time position, although part-time applications may be considered for the right candidate.
The role is open to applicants at different stages of their careers. It could suit someone with a genuine interest in baking who is looking to enter the industry, as well as someone who already has professional bakery experience and would like to develop their skills further within a busy, established business.
You will work closely alongside our Head Baker, who has more than 40 years of experience in the profession. Whether you are looking to begin your career in baking or already have industry experience, you will receive ongoing guidance, mentoring and the opportunity to further develop your skills across the production of our breads, cakes, traybakes and other bakery products.
Formal qualifications are welcome but not essential. We place particular value on reliability, attention to detail, pride in your work and a genuine interest in producing consistently high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with, or independently carrying out, the preparation and production of breads, cakes, traybakes and other bakery products
- Following recipes and production methods accurately and consistently
- Weighing, measuring and preparing ingredients
- Supporting the Head Baker with daily production requirements
- Maintaining consistent standards of quality, presentation and portion control
- Monitoring stock and ensuring ingredients are stored correctly
- Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient bakery workspace
- Following all food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures
- Contributing to the development of new products where appropriate
- Supporting other members of the bakery and food production teams when required
The level of responsibility will reflect the successful candidate's experience, with clear scope to develop further within the department.
About You

- Are willing to work a mixture of weekday and weekend shifts
Previous professional bakery experience is beneficial but not essential, as training and responsibility can be tailored to the successful candidate's existing ability.

Working Hours
This is ideally a full-time position, with shifts generally running from 6am until 3pm, including a mixture of weekdays and weekends.
