Job Summary

Summary of Position:

The Team Leader will support the Assistant Manager and Registered Manager in the operation of the care service. The Team Leader will support the service management team to oversee the service and ensure the highest standards of support are provided for children and young people. Responsibilities will include management the staff group, taking the lead with care planning and the delivery of the care plan, budgetary support and providing constant support to the service.

The Team Leader should have a desire to progress with the company and embrace an organisation that aims to provide a culture of achievement for young people and it’s staff team. The Team Leader must be an experienced practitioner within the sector and embrace the model of trauma informed practice. Above all else, the Team Leader should be a role model to the staff group and young people and be a constant source of support to the management team.

Flexible working is essential as on-call duties will form part of this role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

· Responsibility to promote the Protection and wellbeing of Children.

· Promote the findings of The Promise and advocate these are incorporated within service delivery.

· Work in line with Imagine Care’s values of Partnership, Progress and Professionalism.

· Contribute to the assessment of children and young people’s risks and needs through the development of care plans and risk management plans.

· Promote and lead on trauma informed practice, ensuring that the experiences and needs of young people are understood and appropriate supports are put in place.

· To ensure the therapeutic care of children and young people and be a positive role model.

· To manage a team of Residential Support Workers, lead in Team Meetings and highlight development needs of staff, through supervision and appraisals.

· Promote, monitor, and maintain health and safety in the working environment in accordance with policy and procedure

· Support and mentor the staff team to ensure children and young people manage their lives and achieve their full potential whilst preparing them for adulthood.

· Ensure safeguarding of children and young people from danger, harm, and abuse.

· Contribute to the prevention and management of challenging behaviour in children and young people, promoting the model of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).

Awareness and responsibility for the health and safety of children, young people, colleagues, and yourself.
Support Children and young people to attend education, engaging with educational staff as required.
Take ownership of the organisation’s ethos ‘Believe in a Better Tomorrow’ and support the development of a style of leadership and organisational culture to ensure open and participatory management and practice, promoting the well-being of individuals.
Implement practices which foster positive working relationships productive networks with all stakeholders and local communities.
To actively assist with the selection, recruitment, and retention of staff to ensure a safe, nurturing, and positive environment.
Have responsibility for development and motivation of teams, individuals, and self to enhance performance, whilst ensuring all staff are fully aware of their role.
Contribute to the management and monitoring of budgets to achieve efficient and effective use of resources and delivery of a high-quality service.
Contribute to the strategic direction and self-improvement of the service, consulting and working with others to produce proposals and plans as required.
Taking due regard of legislation regulation and organisational policies, develop, implement, and monitor systems which ensure standards are achieved to maximize a high quality of care in an environment that affords protection and appropriate control.
To participate on an On-call system, offering extra support, advice, and guidance to residential support staff.
To ensure the staffing needs are in place and the appropriate numbers of staff are on duty. A degree of flexibility is required to ensure appropriate staffing numbers in home.
To undertake such tasks deemed appropriate to the post and the remit and development of the service.

Pay: £38,139.40 per year
