Receptionist

We’re on the lookout for a friendly, proactive, and animal-loving superstar to join our reception team.
This is your chance to be at the heart of a warm, passionate team that’s all about making a difference, for pets and their people!

You’ll be the welcoming face of our team Thursday and Friday evenings from 17:00 to 21:00, and every weekend from 08:30 to 16:30, keeping things running smoothly and greeting our clients and their furry friends. If you have the flexibility to step in for extra shifts at short notice, that’s a huge plus!

As the first smiling face our visitors see, you’ll be a key part of what makes our practice feel special. If you’re a natural communicator, love a bit of multitasking, and pride yourself on staying calm under pressure, this could be the perfect fit.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing a welcoming and professional reception: Greeting clients and their pets with courtesy and efficiency.
Managing appointment scheduling: Accurately booking, confirming, and managing appointments.
Handling telephone and email communications: Answering inquiries, relaying messages, and managing correspondence effectively.
Processing payments and maintaining accurate client records.
Ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the reception area and other designated spaces. This includes light cleaning duties to maintain a presentable and hygienic environment for clients and staff.
Providing comfort and support to clients: Showing empathy and understanding towards pet owners, particularly those with anxious or unwell animals.
Assisting with administrative tasks: Filing, photocopying, and other general office duties as required.
Collaborating effectively with veterinary surgeons and nurses to ensure seamless patient care.

What We Are Looking For:

A genuine interest in animal health and welfare.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional and empathetic approach.
Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
The ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a busy environment.
A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
The ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
Basic computer literacy and comfortable using practice management software (training provided).
Previous customer service experience is desirable.
A responsible and detail-oriented approach to maintaining cleanliness standards.
