Purpose
The Site Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of roofing and cladding operations on client sites throughout Scotland. The role ensures that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Site Supervisor provides leadership to site teams, maintains strong client relationships, and ensures compliance with all company, client, and statutory requirements.
Health & Safety
- Lead by example in all aspects of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and client requirements.
- Prepare and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Develop safe systems of work and ensure adherence by all site personnel.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Monitor site conditions and take corrective action where required.
- Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Promote a positive safety culture across all sites.
Key Working Relationships
Internal: Contracts Manager, Directors, Site Operatives, Commercial Team, Office Administration Team, Health & Safety Representatives
External: Clients and Client Representatives, Principal Contractors, Subcontractors, Suppliers, Regulatory Authorities, Health & Safety Inspectors
Accountabilities
- Supervise daily roofing and cladding operations on assigned sites.
- Manage site labour, subcontractors, materials, and equipment resources.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
- Coordinate site activities to meet programme deadlines and customer expectations.
- Maintain site records, reports, inspections, and handover documentation.
- Ensure materials and resources are available and utilised effectively
- Monitor quality standards and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Act as the primary point of contact for site-related client communications
- Lead, motivate, and develop site teams to achieve operational objectives.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices.
- Ensure all client site procedures and standards are fully adhered to.
- Contribute to the achievement of operational and financial KPIs
Site Operations Management
- Plan and coordinate daily site activities.
- Allocate work and monitor productivity.
- Ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Manage site logistics and resource requirements.
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide direct supervision and line management responsibilities for site personnel.
- Conduct performance discussions and provide coaching where required.
- Promote teamwork, collaboration, and professional development.
- Encourage high standards of workmanship and conduct.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Attend site meetings when required.
- Resolve site issues promptly and professionally.

Compliance & Documentation
- Complete site reports, inspections, and handover documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of labour, materials, and plant usage.
- Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Support company audits and compliance activities.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and site performance.
- Support implementation of operational improvements.
- Share best practices across projects and teams.

- Previous experience supervising site-based construction teams.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and site practices.
- Competent IT skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multiple stakeholders.
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- CSCS Supervisor Card.
- Experience within industrial and commercial roofing and cladding projects.
- Knowledge of client management systems and reporting platforms.
