Due to continued company growth, an opportunity has arisen to join a small, friendly machine shop team as a Manual Machinist / Toolroom machinist. You will support the production of precision components using manual milling, tapping, drilling, and turning techniques. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional with strong “old-school” machining knowledge and hands-on expertise in traditional toolroom practices. Inspection experience would be an advantage.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit manufacturing business producing high-quality precision components

Duties will include:

Operating manual milling, drilling, tapping, and turning machinery, grinders, and other conventional workshop equipment
Producing precision components to engineering drawings and specifications
Inspecting and finishing components to a high standard
Maintaining stock levels to support continuous production
Produce high-quality components to tight tolerances

Experience / skills required:

Proven experience with manual milling, drilling, tapping, and turning
Strong toolroom machine shop background
Good attention to detail and accuracy
Reliable with a strong work ethic and organisational skills
Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
Experience with various metals and plastics
Adherence to health & safety procedures at all times

Desirable Qualities

Apprenticeship-trained or equivalent trade background
Old-school machining knowledge and mechanical intuition
Reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic
Willingness to share knowledge and support team development
Formal inspection experience
