Purpse of Job
To prepare, lead and deliver high quality multi-sport coaching programmes, specifically Hockey and/ or Netball, ensuring safe, inclusive, engaging and developmentally appropriate sessions for participants across Enjoy Leisure facilities.
Main Duties and Accountabilities

Prepare and lead the delivery of coached activities across multi-sport programmes, acting as the Lead Coach specifically Hockey and/ or Netball.
- Ensure the standard of instruction is delivered at the correct level for all participants to aid inclusivity.
- Maintain consistently high standards of coaching delivery and session quality in line with programme frameworks.
- Design and deliver sessions that develop individual skills, physical literacy and confidence.
- Demonstrate excellent coaching practice in line with Scottish Governing Body and sportscotland guidance.
- Ensure participant safety and wellbeing through effective risk assessment and risk management.
- Brief and support Assistant Coaches on session aims, objectives and delivery, including a de-brief post coached activity.
- Ensure activities remain inclusive, engaging and welcoming.
- Monitor programme quality and report concerns to line management.
- Comply fully with health & safety, safeguarding and centre procedures.
- Act as a positive ambassador for Enjoy Leisure and contribute to a supportive and inclusive coaching culture.
- Undertake such other duties appropriate to the grading of the post as directed by management.
Requirement for the Role
Essential Criteria
-
Minimum UKCC Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in Sport, Physical Activity or Coaching
- Relevant Scottish Governing Body coaching qualification or activity leadership award
- Experience delivering Hockey and/or Netball coaching programmes
- Experience working with children and young people
- Knowledge of health & safety and safeguarding requirements
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Ability to lead, motivate and support Assistant Coaches
- PVG membership for Vulnerable Adults and Children is an essential requirement of this post
Desirable Criteria

First aid qualification
- Experience working with children and young people
- Experience supporting participants with additional support needs
- Knowledge of child development and learning needs
Salary
£19.29 per hour
Working Schedule
Netball – 2x netball 4 day camps w/c 27th July and 3rd August
Hockey – 2x hockey 5 day camps w/c 27th July and 3rd August
Additional delivery will be organised post summer and in line with future holiday camps.
