We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this post will be on-call.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly team of consultant nephrologists at the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Renal and Transplant Unit. Based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow you will work within a team of consultants providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient nephrology, transplant follow up and dialysis services to the Greater Glasgow and Clyde Region. This is a 10 session post available from April 2026.
The Acute Services Division of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde is the largest group of adult acute hospitals in Scotland. The Division provides Renal Services for Greater Glasgow & Clyde and Forth Valley Health Boards along with Renal Transplant Services for the West of Scotland. The Glasgow Renal and Transplant Unit has 65 inpatient beds at QEUH and currently supports approximately 600 haemodialysis patients, 50 peritoneal dialysis patients,over 1000 renal transplant patients and more than 200 patients per year with acute kidney injury requiring renal replacement therapy. Around 130 new renal transplants were performed last year.
