An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic HCPC-registered Orthotist to join the established Orthotics and Podiatry Service within NHS Forth Valley.
You will work as an autonomous practitioner managing a diverse and complex caseload, providing assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients across a range of clinical areas including musculoskeletal conditions, diabetes and high-risk foot, neurological conditions and rehabilitation. You will be involved in the provision and review of a wide range of orthotic interventions including insoles, footwear adaptations and lower limb orthoses.
The post holder will deliver care across a variety of community settings including health centres, community hospitals and patients’ homes, and therefore must be flexible and able to work across multiple locations within Forth Valley.

Service Transformation
NHS Forth Valley is currently progressing a programme of service redesign and transformation across Podiatry and Orthotics to improve access, patient flow and quality of care.
As part of this, the successful candidate will:
Contribute to the modernisation of Orthotics services, including pathway redesign and demand/capacity alignment
Support the development of integrated working across Orthotics and Podiatry services
Participate in service improvement initiatives, including new models of care and digital developments
Contribute to data collection, audit and service evaluation to support ongoing transformation
Work collaboratively with wider MDT partners to improve patient experience and outcomes

Role Responsibilities
As a Band 6 clinician, you will:
Manage a complex caseload with a high level of clinical autonomy
Contribute to clinical decision-making and prioritisation of referrals
Support and supervise junior staff and students as appropriate
Contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred care
Essential Requirements
We are looking for an individual with:
HCPC registration as an Orthotist
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to effectively plan and manage workload
A commitment to continuous professional development and improving patient outcomes
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
