Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Joiner/Carpenter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing various wooden and related materials on-site and in workshop environments. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including roofing, joinery, and general carpentry tasks, contributing to high-quality construction and renovation works. The position is fully paid and suitable for individuals with a passion for craftsmanship and construction.

Responsibilities

Fabricate and assemble timber components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised machinery
Install joinery elements such as doors, windows, cabinets, and mouldings with precision
Perform roofing tasks including sheathing, framing, and waterproofing as required
Carry out heavy lifting of materials safely to support construction activities
Conduct construction painting where necessary to ensure finishes meet quality standards
Assist with plumbing, masonry, or electrical tasks if required, supporting multi-disciplinary projects
Read technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate execution of work
Maintain a clean and organised work environment to adhere to safety standards
Collaborate with other tradespeople such as masons, electricians, and plumbers to complete projects efficiently

Requirements

Proven experience in carpentry or joinery with a strong understanding of fabrication and assembly techniques
Proficiency in using hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, as well as power tools including drills and saws
Knowledge of roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical systems or construction painting is advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights when necessary
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in measuring and fitting components accurately
Physical fitness to undertake manual labour over extended periods in various weather conditions
Relevant qualifications or apprenticeships in carpentry or joinery are preferred
Valid UK driving licence is desirable for transporting materials or equipment between sites
