Full job description

McConnell is a Principal Contractor who deliver external refurbishment, modernisation and planned maintenance services for the public and private sector across the UK. We employ the industry’s best people and are currently seeking experienced Project Manager for internal and external refurbishment type projects across a range of clients and sectors.

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Location: Project Dependent across Central & East/South East Scotland

Salary: Depending on experience – attractive package available

Working Hours: Full-time 8am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 4pm on Friday

Duties, responsibilities and accountabilities include:

Supporting in the coordination, management and delivery of Main Contractor led projects from pre-start through to completion and handover
Projects delivered are compliant with Design, Specification, Quality Standards
Ensuring full compliance with SHEQ Management Systems
Assisting in the production the Construction Phase Plans, Risk Assessments & Method Statements, Contract Programmes
Day to Day site management activities i.e. Inductions, Toolbox Talks, Site Inspections & Testing, Site Diary, Progress photos, Host Regular Meetings (Start Right Briefing, Progress, Safety, Client)
Monitoring programming and reporting of progress on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
Supervise, manage, drive, coordinate and liaise with site team (QS, Operatives, RLO)
Supervise, manage, drive and coordinate subcontractors
Liaise with Client and Others as appropriate

Person Specification

Experience of managing projects resources with a combination of subcontracted and direct labour
Valid SSSTS or SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid Certificates
Track record of on time, high quality project delivery
Clear communicator (written and verbal)
Self-motivated and organised
Good record keeping skills
Commercial awareness
Able to work as part of a team

Competencies

Ability to competently operate MS office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
