Job Summary
You will play a key role in managing the day-to-day running of the JMAC Industrial & Access Yard and Asset team providing key management to accurate controls of the overall asset base whilst ensuring timely and Quality deliveries and collections of our equipment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure each delivery and return of materials including verification of counts, inspection of the condition of the equipment and the completion of all required paperwork.
- Oversee and manage the Asset team to control the location of all Group assets and equipment, internally and externally on client; monitoring value of asset on site; costs of having this asset on site from supply chain or internally group owned assets to enable accurate commercial / financial reporting and controls of such asset.
- Monitor and maintain the quality of the yard and assets in an organised fashion (i.e., separation of equipment requiring maintenance to quarantine area, equipment to be charged to the customer, and equipment that is rent ready).
- Maintain compliance with all company HSEQ policies & procedures at all times.
- Managing the yard teams and the allocation of shift patterns.
- Take ownership for the efficient, safe, and cost-effective running of the Yard.
- Responsibility for the picking, packing, and dispatching of sales and operations stock by working closely with sales and operational functions of the business to ensure accurate timely delivery & collection of equipment
- Manage effectively the dispatch and return of assets coming in and out of the yard.
- Attend sites to perform on-site asset management audits.
- Ensure any damaged assets or equipment is repaired properly and timely to minimise operational disruption.
- Support with the training and development of your team and apprentices.
- Responsible for the accuracy of all paperwork concerning any movement of equipment in and out of the yard. Properly account for equipment that is to be charged to the customer, both internal Group customers and external clients.
- Ensure yard supervisors communicate stock levels and inventories and stock levels daily to each respective head of department.
- Hold daily meetings with the team to discuss daily objectives and safety issues for all yard employees.
- Maintain well-organised and safe premises, working in collaboration with Head of Transport & Logistics and key stakeholders of the business.
- Ensure all yard staff have signed and understand the relevant risk assessments and method statements for their given tasks. Ensure all yard staff have the minimum in date qualifications to work in the yard.
- Ensure the Completion of all relevant information and tasks in iAuditor including but not limited to workforce monitoring, yard/forklifts audits, yard briefings, and inspections.
- Manage and maintain Yard RAMS and COSHH assessments with support from HSEQ.
- Lead and promote toolbox talks and ensure the items discussed are carried out and applicable to findings from the previous period to drive and promote a culture of continual improvement.
- Consistently work towards maintaining NASC standards in the Yard by leading and managing the Yard team to success.
- Lead, and be the main point of contact for, NASC audits in the Yard.
