Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Butcher/Improver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food production and great customer service, with a focus on high-quality meat preparation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a professional environment, contributing to the preparation of premium meat products for our customers. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to enhance their butchery expertise and culinary knowledge.

Duties

Prepare and cut various types of meat according to specified standards and recipes
Assist in the butchery process, including trimming, portioning, and packaging meat products
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in all tasks
Ensure all food preparation complies with health and safety regulations
Support the team in food production activities, including inventory management and stock rotation
Assist with cleaning and sanitising work areas and equipment regularly
Serving customers.
Cashing up

Skills

Proven experience in food production or butchery
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Experience in food preparation
Good understanding of food handling procedures
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Willingness to learn new techniques and improve existing skills within the butchery trade
