Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Conventional/CNC Miller to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating and programming milling machines to produce precise components, primarily within a mechanical or engineering environment. The successful candidate will utilise their technical expertise and mechanical knowledge to deliver high-quality parts, contributing to our company's reputation for excellence. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in machining, CAD design, and tooling to develop their skills further within a dynamic and supportive workplace.

Responsibilities

Set up, programme, and operate both conventional and CNC milling machines to produce specified components.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files using SolidWorks or similar software.
Perform grinding, welding, and assembly tasks as required to complete projects accurately.
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised tooling to carry out machining operations efficiently.
Conduct routine inspections of machined parts to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
Assist with tooling changes, machine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting during production runs.
Apply basic maths skills for measurements, tolerances, and calculations necessary for machining processes.

Experience

Proven experience in milling operations, including both conventional and CNC machinery.
Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks for interpreting technical drawings.
Knowledge of grinding, welding, plastics injection moulding, and assembly processes is advantageous.
Mechanical knowledge combined with experience using hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing environment.
Understanding of tooling selection, setup procedures, and basic machine maintenance.
Ability to work accurately with minimal supervision while adhering to safety standards.
Previous exposure to working with plastics or in environments involving injection moulding is desirable but not essential.
