Walker and Sloan are proud to be working with a well known Performance Marketing Agency in Bristol as they are keen to bring on board a Head of Growth to the team on a full time basis.

Salary: Up to £100k DOE

Location: Remote UK based

The role

As Head of Growth, you own the agencies top of funnel. Your job is to build a predictable, multi-channel pipeline of qualified e-commerce and DTC brands and put sales-ready conversations on the founder’s calendar.

To be clear about the split: you build and own the pipeline; the founder closes. You’re measured on the volume and quality of qualified opportunities you generate, and on the new revenue that closes from the pipeline you build — not on running the sales calls yourself. As the function proves out, you’ll get the mandate and budget to build a small growth team beneath you.

This is a build-from-the-front role, not a manage-what-exists role. The channels exist; the system doesn’t yet. You’re the person who makes it repeatable.

Two channels drive almost all of our growth: paid acquisition and organic content. That’s where we want you to be genuinely excellent. We’ve never grown through cold outbound or traditional business development, and this role doesn’t hinge on cracking it — we’re hiring you to be brilliant at what we already know works, and to make it bigger and more predictable.

What you’ll own

Paid acquisition for MHI itself. We run ads for a living — now you’ll run ours. Own our lead-gen campaigns across Meta, LinkedIn and wherever else our buyers are, from brief to CPL to qualified lead.

The organic / content engine. Turn our presence on X and the founder’s personal brand into a reliable inbound channel — the strategy, the cadence, and the capture mechanics that convert audience into pipeline.

Referrals and partnerships, systematised. Referrals are our best-converting and least predictable channel. Build the partnership, affiliate and referral programs that make that flow repeatable instead of accidental.

New channels — upside, not the mandate. We don’t run on cold outbound or traditional business development today, and the role doesn’t depend on it. If you spot a smart, on-brand way to open a new channel, test it — but your core job is winning with paid and organic.

Qualification and handoff. Define what a good lead looks like, qualify hard, and book the founder onto calls worth his time. Protect the top of the funnel from noise.

The numbers. Own the full-funnel dataset — spend, CPL, MQL SQL, booked calls, pipeline value, close rate from your sourced pipeline, CAC and payback by channel. Build the CRM and attribution so we actually know what’s working.

Eventually, a team. Once the engine works, hire and lead the people who scale it.

About you

- 4+ years in B2B or B2B-services demand generation, growth or performance marketing ideally inside an agency or a fast-growing services business
You’ve built a channel from zero and owned its number, not just optimised one someone else built. You can point to pipeline you personally created.
- Deep, demonstrable strength in paid acquisition and organic / content — the two channels that actually drive our growth. This is the heart of the role: we want someone brilliant at what we know works, not a generalist hired on the promise of new channels.
- Numbers-fluent. You think in CPL, CAC, pipeline value and payback, and you’re honest about attribution.
- Happy owning pipeline rather than closing. The win you chase is a calendar full of qualified calls and the revenue that follows — not the handshake at the end.
- You understand the DTC / e-commerce world well enough to speak our clients’ language in your copy and targeting.
- A self-starting systems-builder, energised by a blank page and a mandate rather than unsettled by it

Nice to Have

Experience marketing an agency, or selling to e-commerce founders.
A track record of building a personal or company brand on X / LinkedIn.
Bonus if you’ve also opened outbound or partnership channels — as a complement to strong paid and organic, not instead of it.
Familiarity with founder-led or creator marketing.
Hands-on with the modern growth stack — CRM, attribution, automation and the relevant ad platforms.
