Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Operations Technical Administrator supporting Field Team Leaders and their teams in a busy operational environment.
It is our ambition to champion diversity through building a workforce as diverse as the communities we serve.
In this role, you will provide admin and technical support to our Field teams.
You will have a variety of duties such as:
Using Microsoft Forms and SharePoint to manage data collection, reporting, and document sharing.
Support teams with basic IT issues, escalating where necessary.
Help produce site maps using Microsoft PowerPoint and carry out utility searches to support operational planning.
Maintain and update the Excel training spreadsheet and team competency records.
Assist with ordering stores, site fuel, and signage for operational sites.
Raise purchase orders and manage procurement processes in line with agency procedures.
Supporting 6 field teams, split across Norfolk and Suffolk, in collaboration with another Technical Support Officer.
Maintain the Logistics Planning Tool (LPT) resilience roster, ensuring coverage and continuity across teams.
Work collaboratively with other teams within the agency to support cross-functional activities.
Adapt to evolving responsibilities and embrace change in a dynamic work environment.
Manage your own workload with minimal supervision.
Proactively look at ways of working to find potential improvements that will benefit the field teams.
Booking hotels and travel arrangements for teams on training.
Attend Programme meetings, team briefs.
Minute taking at program meetings.
We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who are willing to learn new skills, with full training and support given. All new starters have an inclusive incident management objective in their development plan. We’ll help find a role to suit and appropriate training will be given.

The team
Our field teams sit within Local Operations and protect people and the environment by maintaining and operating our flood and coastal risk management assets (such as pumping stations, sluices and flood banks) and responding to incidents.
You will help support 6 field teams spread across Norfolk and Suffolk who have dedicated depots or offices. You will be expected at times to visit other teams bases when the need arises, for programme and team meetings.

Experience/skills required
Essential:
Good level of literacy and numeracy skills, ideally with Math's and English GCSE A-C or Functional Skills Level 2 or previous relevant experience.
Enthusiastic with a willingness to learn new skills
Able to work independently, plan your own time and priorities but also be a team player
Able to communicate well across your own team and the various teams that we interact with
Good IT skills, able to use MS packages and be able to learn EA internal systems
General Admin experience
It would be helpful, but not essential, if you had:
Flood risk asset management knowledge but not essential as all training provided
Full UK Driving Licence as some of our depots are less accessible via public transport.

The role can be based at one of three listed locations; however our hybrid working model means we are lucky to have the flexibility to work from both the office and home, dependent primarily on business need, allowing for personal circumstances where we can.
