Introduction to our workshop:
H. Miller Bros. is a design-led cabinet making workshop based in the Baltic Triangle, Liverpool. We design, make, and install bespoke cabinetry— primarily kitchens, and a varied mix of bespoke fitted pieces across the home — for clients with a genuine appreciation for considered design. We’re proud of our work, and details matter to us.
We're a small, tight-knit team. We work to high standards, we look after each other, and we take the work seriously. If you've spent time in a professional cabinet making environment and you're looking for somewhere that matches your standards, we'd love to hear from you.
Who we’re looking for:
You'll have a formal qualification in cabinet making or woodwork — for instance, City & Guilds Level 3, a recognised apprenticeship, or a Wood Technology degree — and you'll have worked in a professional workshop making premium fitted cabinetry. You know how to work with veneered panels without causing damage, how to prepare and work with solid wood, and how to conduct yourself properly in a client's home.
Beyond the craft, you're the kind of person who takes deadlines seriously, leaves things cleaner than you found them, and says something when you see a problem rather than hoping someone else notices. You're not looking for your next stepping stone — you're looking for somewhere to do good work with good people, for the long term.
The Role:
You'll be making bespoke fitted cabinetry from start to finish — working from technical drawings, machining and assembling components, applying finishes, and fitting completed projects in clients' homes. The work is varied, the quality bar is high, and nothing leaves the workshop unless it's right.
Day to day you'll be:
- Machining, assembling, and finishing bespoke fitted cabinetry to a high standard
- Working with CNC-cut components and veneered panels as part of a structured production workflow
- Reading and checking technical drawings before and during making
- Dry-running assemblies and integrated appliance fits in the workshop before going to site
- Carrying out installations in clients' homes — professionally, carefully, and with the flexibility that site work demands
- Contributing to how we work — we value the knowledge and experience you'll bring with you, and if you spot a better way, we genuinely want to hear it. Improving our work and how we do it is a continuous focus here, and we do it through shared conversation, not top-down instruction
We'll train you in CNC operation and spray finishing — you may already have some grounding in these, but we'll make sure you're working to our standards and processes. We won't train you in how to be a cabinet maker — you already know that.
What's in it for you:
- £15/hr, within a pay band that runs to £17.25 — with quarterly performance reviews and annual pay reviews linked to both your performance and market rates
- A performance-linked bonus scheme shared across the workshop team
- Overtime paid at 1.5x your standard rate
- Site work compensated fairly — longer days are paid at overtime rate or taken back as time in lieu, with accommodation, a food allowance, and travel all covered
- Interest-free tool loan scheme — up to £1,000 per year, repaid through your pay in instalments. Once it's paid off, the tool is yours
- Trade prices on materials and appliances passed on for personal use
- Parking permit for the Baltic Triangle, valid seven days a week
- Uniform and PPE provided, plus £50/year towards safety footwear
- 28 days annual leave including bank holidays
- Workplace pension with 3% employer contribution
- A working environment that actively develops broad skills — we don't pigeonhole people into narrow roles, and there's always something new to learn here
- A focused, professional workshop — clean, well-organised, and worth seeing for yourself
Pay: £15.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
