Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient handling of materials, and maintaining a safe and organised environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within a dynamic logistics setting.

Responsibilities

Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods from lorries and storage areas
Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely (training provided)
Managing stock levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movements
Picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch or storage
Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring documentation is correct and timely
Stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation
Conducting quality control checks to maintain product standards
Performing mechanical tasks related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting as required
Ensuring the warehouse remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations

Qualifications

Previous experience in warehousing or logistics is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for all operational procedures
Knowledge of materials handling equipment such as forklifts is advantageous; certification is a plus but not mandatory
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software is desirable
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently (up to 25kg)
Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail in stock management and order accuracy
Mechanical aptitude or knowledge of basic maintenance tasks is beneficial
Good physical fitness with the ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
