Full job description

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair and certification of a wide range of mechanical and lifting equipment across customer sites and our workshop facilities.

This is a hands-on role requiring a strong mechanical background, attention to detail and the ability to work independently while maintaining high safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out mechanical fitting, maintenance and repair work on a variety of equipment.

Inspect, service and fault-find mechanical systems and components.

Dismantle, repair, rebuild and test gearboxes, motors, pumps and associated equipment.

Conduct LOLER thorough examinations on lifting equipment and lifting accessories.

Carry out ladder, step ladder and access equipment inspections.

Complete inspection reports, certification and maintenance documentation accurately.

Identify wear, damage and defects, recommending repairs where necessary.

Ensure all work is completed in accordance with LOLER, PUWER and Health & Safety regulations.

Work safely at height when required.

Attend customer sites throughout Yorkshire and surrounding areas.

Essential Requirements:

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Engineer or similar role.

Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.

Experience with industrial equipment, motors and gearboxes.

Knowledge of LOLER regulations and lifting equipment inspections.

Experience carrying out ladder inspections and working at height.

Ability to complete reports and certification paperwork accurately.

Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

LOLER inspection qualification.

IPAF, PASMA or Working at Height certification.

FLT licence.

Welding and fabrication experience.

CSCS card.
