Full job description

Bank Street Dental is a long-established dental practice in the heart of Galashiels, with roots dating back to the 1920s. Serving the local community for generations, the practice has grown to become the largest NHS dental provider in the Scottish Borders, caring for thousands of patients across NHS and private services.

On 1 April 2026, a major new chapter began when Vermilion – The Smile Experts Ltd acquired Bank Street Dental Practice. This marked the start of an exciting new chapter focused on service development, and long-term sustainability. The practice continues to build on its strong heritage while advancing modern, high-quality, patient centred dental care.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and treat oral diseases, injuries, and abnormalities

Provide high-quality general dental treatments, including:

Examinations and treatment planning

Fillings, extractions, and root canal treatments

Preventive dentistry and oral health education

Deliver care in accordance with NHS Scotland and private dentistry standards

Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely clinical records

Manage patient anxiety with professionalism and empathy

Build strong, trust-based relationships with patients

Ensure informed consent is obtained for all treatments

Communicate treatment options, risks, and costs clearly

Promote preventative oral health practices
