About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Utility Arborist Surveyor (UA5) to join our growing team. This role involves surveying vegetation in proximity to utility networks, assessing tree-related risks, gaining consent, putting teams to work and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. You will play a key role in supporting the safe and reliable operation of utility infrastructure while promoting sustainable vegetation management practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct tree and vegetation surveys along utility network corridors.
- Assess tree health, condition, and risk to utility assets.
- Identify and record required vegetation management works.
- Produce accurate survey reports using digital mapping and data collection systems.
- Liaise with landowners, utility clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Support planning and scheduling of vegetation management activities.
- Set teams of Utility Arborists to work.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Requirements
- Experience in arboriculture, forestry, utility vegetation management, or a related field.
- Relevant arboricultural qualifications (e.g. UA5).
- Knowledge of tree identification, tree biology, and risk assessment processes.
- Familiarity with utility vegetation management standards and practices.
- Competent in using handheld survey devices, GIS systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications
- Additional Utility Arb qualifications.
- NPTC/LANTRA certifications.
- Experience working with electricity distribution networks.
- Knowledge of GIS mapping software.
- First Aid certification.

Pay: £36,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
