Role Overview
The role of Operations Assistant is to support the company operations, and involves carrying out operational, regulatory, and administrative duties. The position reports directly to the Associate Director of Operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the processing of customer orders according to documented procedures in an efficient and timely manner
- Assist in the shipping logistics of orders through physical preparation, customs preparation, and proactive shipment monitoring
- Monitor and manage stock by conducting regular inventory checks, and communicating reorder and manufacturing requirements
- Assist in the purchasing of raw materials and consumables including price comparison and negotiation with suppliers
- Assist in the preventative maintenance schedules and perform routine checks of equipment
- Assist with document and record keeping across our Quality Management System
- Ensure that good laboratory and warehouse housekeeping is maintained
- Assist in data entry and verification into ERP systems to support the integration of the system
- Support operations team with admin, technical documentation and order fulfilment
Requirements:
- BSc Degree or equivalent life-science qualification
- Confidence to work with different types of material (COSHH) and in laboratory-controlled areas
- Highly organised and self-motivated individual with good attention to detail
- Positive demeanour and a proactive approach to working with enthusiasm
- Proficient in managing tasks efficiently within tight deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication and numeracy skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to adapt quickly to changes in task requirements
Desirable
- BSc Degree in a relevant life science discipline (e.g. biochemistry, molecular biology), or have equivalent life-science qualification
- Laboratory experience in the life science industry
- Experience of working within an ISO 9001 or 13485 environment
