Role description:

Our paid Placement programme is designed to give you a hands-on insight into the work we do as a company and help to develop skills and knowledge within your chosen field. Supported by signposted training, the programme is based on Arcadis’ core values, giving you both technical training and support to help you develop both personally and professionally whilst with us. You will be exposed to real projects and clients and given a range of experiences to immerse yourself into over the course of your 12-month placement.

Role accountabilities:

Urban Designer – As a Placement Urban Designer, you will support the delivery of master planning and urban design projects for UK and global clients across the public and private sectors, including urban regeneration. You will work within project teams to develop design ideas, prepare drawings and presentation material, and contribute to reports and client outputs. You’ll collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams and, with professional supervision and on-the-job learning, build your technical capability and understanding of project delivery.

Accepted degrees:

BA, BSc, MA, or MSc in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture or closely related degree

Qualifications & Experience:

Working towards a degree in one of the accepted disciplines listed above.
CV and portfolio / work sample submitted with your application (max file size 10MB).
Strong design, graphic communication, and presentation skills (evidenced in your portfolio)
Excellent written and spoken English
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Software skills are advantageous, including:
- Revit / BIM
- Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop and InDesign)
- 3D visualisation tools (e.g., Enscape, V-Ray, SketchUp)
- MS Office (Word, Excel)
