Job Purpose:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Conformal Coating Technician to apply protective coatings to printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic assemblies. The ideal candidate will ensure components are coated accurately according to specifications to protect against moisture, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare PCBs and assemblies for coating (masking, cleaning, baking if required)
- Apply conformal coating using manual or automated techniques (e.g. brushing, spraying, dipping)
- Mixing and preparation of materials
- Inspect work for quality and compliance with IPC standards and customer specifications
- Operate and maintain coating and curing equipment
- Remove masking after curing and perform any necessary touch-up
- Complete production documentation and quality control records
- Follow safety and cleanroom procedures
- Communicate any issues or non- conformities to Team Leader
- Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with 5S principles
Person Specification:
- Previous experience in manufacturing
- Experience ogf working on conformal coating equipment would be advantageous
- Desire to learn and develop
- Attention to detail and strong hand-eye coordination
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and technical drawings
- Comfortable using tools such as UV lamps, tweezers, microscopes, and spray guns
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610 or similar quality standards (preferred)
