Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and energetic Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our dynamic culinary team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for supporting food preparation, cooking, and meal service in a fast-paced environment. Your enthusiasm for culinary arts and commitment to food safety will help ensure our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary skills while contributing to the creation of delicious, high-quality meals that delight our customers or residents.

Duties

Assist with food preparation by chopping, peeling, measuring ingredients, and assembling dishes according to recipes and standards
Cook a variety of menu items while maintaining consistency, quality, and presentation standards
Support the kitchen team in maintaining cleanliness and organization of workstations, utensils, and equipment
Follow all food safety protocols and hygiene standards to ensure a safe dining environment
Help with meal assembly and serving to ensure timely delivery of hot, fresh dishes
Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Collaborate with team members to execute daily kitchen tasks efficiently and effectively

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or catering setting is preferred
Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling techniques
Strong skills in meal preparation, cooking, and kitchen sanitation practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and servers
Culinary experience or training is a plus but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is essential
Serving experience or familiarity with customer service is advantageous
