Overview

Front of House & Retail Manager

URBANGREEN, Winchester

- £18 per hour, plus retail commission and performance-related bonus
- 30 hours per week over four days
- Two Saturdays per month

URBANGREEN is looking for an exceptional Front of House & Retail Manager to take ownership of our guest experience, appointment-book efficiency, and Aveda retail performance.

This is not a general salon manager role. You will lead the front-of-house and retail area of the business while working closely with the General Manager as a trusted and dependable right-hand person.

We are looking for someone polished, commercially aware, highly organised, and naturally warm, with the confidence to deliver outstanding service while helping drive the commercial performance of the salon.

About the role
You will be responsible for:

- Leading the day-to-day front-of-house operation
- Ensuring every guest receives a warm, professional, and highly personalised experience
- Managing the appointment book efficiently to maximise productivity and salon revenue
- Reducing gaps, managing cancellations, and improving rebooking
- Ensuring telephone, email, and in-salon enquiries are handled promptly and professionally
- Overseeing the full guest journey, from initial booking through to arrival, checkout, and rebooking
- Driving Aveda retail sales and achieving agreed targets
- Maintaining excellent retail presentation and merchandising standards
- Supporting the team to make confident and appropriate product recommendations
- Monitoring front-of-house and retail performance
- Supporting the General Manager with the smooth day-to-day running of the salon
- Handling guest feedback and resolving concerns professionally

Aveda is at the heart of our business. We have worked with Aveda for almost 25 years, and its approach to high-performance, plant-powered haircare, education, guest service, and environmental responsibility is central to who we are.

The successful candidate will be expected to fully embrace the Aveda brand, become highly knowledgeable about its products, and confidently communicate their benefits to both guests and the team.

This is not simply a retail checkout role. You will play a key part in creating a strong retail culture, improving product recommendations, and ensuring that Aveda is visible throughout the entire guest experience.

About you
You will ideally have experience in premium retail, hospitality, beauty, spa, or salon front-of-house management.

You will be:

Previous salon experience would be an advantage, but it is not essential. We would also welcome applications from strong candidates with experience in luxury retail, premium hospitality, beauty, spa, or guest-experience roles.
