Full job description

Are you a well organized, dedicated professional who has a customer friendly approach? Do you have excellent communication customer service skills? Do you want to work in a rewarding and friendly team?

If so, come work within the Radiotherapy specialty service where you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the patient pathway, maintaining National and local Cancer Targets.

Providing administrative support to the Radiotherapy MDT including; Consultant Oncologist, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Therapeutic Radiographers and junior Doctors.

Liaise closely with other specialties and departments within the MSB, ensuring compliance with the 31 day subsequent Radiotherapy and 62 day Cancer Targets.

Provide cross cover for the clinical service with regards to patient manual handling, chaperoning and mould room support to maintain service continuity.

To ensure an efficient pathway from point of referral to radiotherapy, through treatment and completion to follow up. To become competent in the use of relevant IT systems including Mosaiq record and verify, CED, Medway, ICE, Insight, ScribeNet, Citrix, PTS online, IEP, ACP and CWT list.

To identify and immediately escalate issues that could delay the patient pathway. To liaise and book treatment appointments with other specialities, for example chemotherapy or surgery to ensure patients receiving concomitant therapy are booked and treated within the most effective and appropriate timescale.

To liaise on a daily basis with the Cancer Data Team and MDT co-ordinators in order to monitor and maintain the Radiotherapy patient pathway in line with best practice and National Cancer Targets.
