At Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Machinist to join our team.
This role is based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, and will be working as part of our Work Rolls department which produces forged steel rolls in our custom-built steel processing facility, that is among the most advanced, dedicated forged roll plants in the world.
As a CNC Machinist, you will operating manual & CNC machines within a large heavy engineering environment.
What you’ll be doing

Operating and programming CNC machine tools.

Working to complex engineering drawings.

Machining large steel forgings, up to 20 tonnes in weight.

Slinging and crane driving, manoeuvring large components to facilitate machining operations.

Use of Continuous Improvement tools such as 6S to maintain standards.
About You
-
Experience in using both manual and CNC machines.

Extensive experience in milling, turning and boring.

Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings.

Ability to write and understand CNC programs.

Experience of crane driving and slinging is highly desirable.

The Working Pattern
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Mornings: 06:00-2:30, Monday - Thursday, Fridays 6:00-12:00 Nights: 20:00-06:00 Monday - Thursday

Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 - 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
