Procurement Executive

At Killis, we're looking for an ambitious Procurement Executive to join our growing team and support the continued development of our purchasing and supply chain operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with procurement or purchasing experience, strong attention to detail, a commercial mindset, and a passion for data and problem-solving.
Working closely with our Procurement Manager, you'll play an active role across supplier relationships, purchasing, stock management, pricing, product sourcing and supply chain operations, while continuing to develop your knowledge and experience within a growing business.
The role is initially offered on a three-month contract, with the potential for the position to become permanent and develop into a long-term career within an ambitious and growing company.
This is an office-based role, and the successful candidate will be expected to work from our Sheffield office on a daily basis. We believe this provides the best environment for collaboration, learning, development and exposure to the wider business.

Role Overview
We are seeking a commercially driven and analytically minded Procurement Executive to support strategic sourcing, supplier management, and commercial negotiations across the business.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong commercial awareness with technical understanding and can confidently engage with suppliers to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve supplier performance, and support procurement strategy.
The successful candidate will be capable of analysing supplier offerings in detail, interpreting complex technical and financial information, and turning fragmented data into clear commercial insight that supports business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed cost and specification analysis across supplier offerings
- Benchmark suppliers against competitors to identify value, savings, and consolidation opportunities
- Analyse pricing structures, freight costs, rebates, lead times, MOQs, and total cost of ownership
- Support procurement strategy by identifying leverage opportunities and alternative sourcing options
- Prepare commercial evaluations and negotiation packs to support supplier discussions
- Investigate and challenge supplier pricing, terms, and commercial assumptions
Supplier & Contract Management
- Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and manufacturers
- Lead or support commercial negotiations with suppliers
- Assist with supplier reviews, contract renewals, and performance management
- Monitor supplier compliance against agreed commercial terms and service levels
- Identify opportunities for improved supplier performance and operational efficiency
Commercial Insight & Reporting
- Interpret technical, operational, and financial data to produce meaningful commercial recommendations
- Summarise complex information into clear and concise reports for stakeholders
- Present findings, opportunities, and risks in a commercially focused manner
- Support internal teams with supplier and product-related commercial insight
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Experience within procurement, purchasing, commercial analysis, or supplier management
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation capability
- Experience engaging directly with suppliers and manufacturers
- Ability to analyse pricing structures and technical specifications
- Understanding of:
- MOQ structures
- Lead times
- Freight and logistics costs
- Rebate and growth incentive models
- Total cost analysis
- Experience with contract management and supplier negotiations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with large volumes of fragmented information and convert it into actionable insight
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong Excel and data analysis capability
Desirable
- Experience within distribution, manufacturing, or supply-chain environments
- Knowledge of procurement strategy and category management
- Experience using ERP or procurement systems
- Commercial or procurement-related qualifications (CIPS or similar)
