About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, organised, and enthusiastic Early Years Operational Support Assistant to join our friendly nursery team.

This is a varied and important role that helps ensure the nursery runs smoothly each day. You will support the operational aspects of the setting, helping to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, takes pride in keeping things organised, and is happy to turn their hand to a range of practical tasks throughout the day. This role may suit someone returning to work or a parent with school-aged children.

We are committed to finding the right people for our team. While this role is offered on a full-time basis, we are open to discussing a job-share arrangement and would welcome applications from candidates seeking part-time hours where, together, they can cover the full responsibilities of the position.

Main Responsibilities

Preparing and serving snacks and light meals for children.
Supporting children during snack and lunchtime routines.
Washing up and maintaining kitchen hygiene standards.
Completing laundry tasks, including washing, drying, and putting away nursery items.
Maintaining a clean, tidy, and well-organised environment throughout the nursery.
Cleaning and sanitising toys, equipment, and resources as required.
Monitoring and replenishing stock levels of consumables and supplies.
Assisting with setting up and clearing away activities and learning environments.
Supporting the wider nursery team with operational tasks as required.
Following all nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, and food hygiene requirements.

Essential Requirements

Desirable

Previous experience in a nursery, school, catering, housekeeping, hospitality, or similar environment.
Food Hygiene Certificate.
Paediatric First Aid qualification (training can be provided).
