Job Title: Business Development Manager
Department: Software Sales
Location: Sheffield / Talbot Green / London
Working Pattern: Hybrid – includes 3 days a week on site
Contract Type: Full time, permanent
Salary: Up to £48,000 base + £40,000 commission

Role overview:
As a Business Development Manager, you will support the growth of SaaS revenues by identifying and building relationships with key decision-makers within a defined customer base. This outbound role requires a proactive approach to pipeline development, market understanding, and working towards sales targets. You will demonstrate software solutions to prospective customers and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Key responsibilities:
Work towards sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs)
Carry out outbound activity to build and manage a strong sales pipeline
Deliver high-quality product demonstrations using value-based approaches
Maintain CRM accuracy, ensuring timely and reliable revenue forecasting
Develop strong market and product knowledge, including competitor awareness
Engage with senior stakeholders and decision-makers to secure deals
Collaborate with the wider sales team to identify cross-sell opportunities
Act as a role model for best practice, supporting and sharing knowledge with colleagues

What will you need to succeed?
Experience in an outbound sales role, with a track record of achieving targets
Strong communication and influencing skills, particularly with senior stakeholders
A resilient and results-focused approach within a fast-paced environment
Good market and product awareness, with an ability to learn and demonstrate software solutions
High attention to detail with effective time management and CRM discipline
A collaborative mindset and focus on customer satisfaction
Familiarity with SaaS solutions and an understanding of market trends and customer needs (desirable)
Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to understand and address the needs of different educational institutions
Experience using sales methodologies and a consultative, value-based approach
Clear and effective communication and listening skills, with the ability to manage customer conversations and build rapport
Ability to adapt approach when engaging stakeholders at different levels of seniority
Strong organisation skills, including maintaining CRM accuracy and providing detailed forecasts

Pay: £40,000.00-£48,000.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Sheffield S1 2JE
