Charles Day (Steels) Limited – Sheffield, S4 8BT

Job title: Stock Control Assistant
Department: Production
Reporting to: Foreman and Production Manager
Hours of work: 2 Shift Pattern (6am-2pm and 2pm – 10pm)
The Candidate: The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to the throughput of the shop floor and ensuring a reliable service to customers. They will be jointly responsible for the accurate and detailed organisation of stock ensuring the inhouse ERP system is up to date so materials can be effectively fed to the required machines.

General Responsibilities and Requirements:

Stock control, organisation and handling
Ensuring a steady flow of material to machines in line with specific order requirements
Ensure stock is in the correct location and effectively accounted for
General house keeping
Fork Lift Truck Licence required.

Experience a preference but not essential, ideally the candidate will possess a valid Fork Lift Truck licence with Overhead Crane experience but again not essential. Pending a successful initial period, we will provide training and licencing for both.

If successful in the role there will be opportunity to progress to various machine operating roles with all necessary training provided by the company.
