JOB DESCRIPTION: SOHAS Operations Manager 25.5hrs per week
MAIN WORK SITE: SOHAS office
ACCOUNTABLE TO: SOHAS Chief Executive Officer
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
1. Operational Management: working alongside the SOHAS Chief Executive Officer (CEO), to take the lead on daily operations, ensuring effective service delivery of the Work and Health Service and the Carers Project.
1.1 Work with SOHAS Advisers and Administrative Co-ordinator on increasing advice sessions in GP surgeries, developing and maintaining referral pathways, implementing changes and improvements to the Work and Health Service, with the aim of increasing the number of patients given advice.
1.2 To work alongside the SOHAS Chief Executive Officer on funding applications.
1.3 To provide cover for the SOHAS CEO during holidays or absences.
1.4 To contribute to the organisation’s policy updates and their implementation.
1.5 To lead meetings on developing the Work and Health Service with the adviser team including training, providing support and advice on individual basis and as a team.
1.6 To lead the bimonthly subgroup meetings which cover workplace wellbeing and marketing and take part in the finance subgroups.
1.7 Assist with recruiting, training, managing employee performance, and fostering a positive organisation culture.
1.8 Collaborating with the CEO and trustees to implement policies and reach organisational milestones.
1.9 To produce regular reports for the SOHAS Chief Executive Officer and trustees on the Work and Health Service and the Carers Project based on contractual requirements.
1.10 To project manage the Carers Project, with the aim of getting people who have left employment, for a carer’s role, to get them back into employment.

2.1 To carry out responsibilities of the post with full regard to the equal opportunities policy of SOHAS and to support and implement anti-discriminatory practice in all areas of SOHAS’ work.
2.2 To represent SOHAS at meetings and on other bodies as required and agreed with the SOHAS Chief Executive and trustees.

2.5 To attend training sessions as determined or agreed by the SOHAS Chief Executive or trustees and to provide written evaluative feedback on these to the SOHAS Chief Executive and OHA colleagues.
2.6 To attend and participate in regular workers’, advisers’ and trustees’ meetings as required.
2.7 To prepare verbal or written reports on work undertaken as required by the SOHAS Chief Executive Officer, trustees, and Sheffield City Council.
2.8 To be accountable to the SOHAS Chief Executive Officer and the trustees and to take part in supervision and appraisal process.
2.9 To carry out any other duties appropriate to the job as agreed with the SOHAS Chief Executive and SOHAS trustees.

ESSENTIAL
Qualifications
- Educated to a degree level, or equivalent, to a good standard with relevant qualifications or experience
Employment / Experience (Previous and Present)
- Experience of working in a management or supervisory capacity
- Experience of developing or helping to develop a people-centred service
- Self-sufficient in admin and main Microsoft packages
Skills
- An effective evaluator of people’s problems
- Ability to show initiative in developing and promoting the service and networking with relevant agencies
- Good problem-solving skills, motivational and listening skills
- Good presentation and communication skills
- Ability to lead and work as part of a team
Circumstances
- Ability to travel in the local area
- Ability to occasionally work outside of normal working hours to attend events or give presentations on the work of SOHAS
DESIRABLE
- Experience of working in the voluntary sector
- Understanding of current issues in work and health
- Experience of writing successful funding bids
- Experience of project management
- Understand the principles of occupational health and safety legislation
- Experience of using AI in terms of developing bids and as a way of increasing productivity through the organisation
Training, mentoring and job shadowing will be given to the successful candidate
Pay: £15.71-£16.50 per hour
