About the Role
As a Firefighter at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, you will provide a critical emergency response service, helping to protect passengers, staff, aircraft, and airport infrastructure in a fast-paced and safety-critical aviation environment. A strong commitment to training, safety, and continuous improvement is essential. You will undertake ongoing development to maintain competence, demonstrate personal resilience, and perform effectively under pressure in dynamic situations. Maintaining high levels of physical fitness and situational awareness will be key to ensuring you are always ready to respond safely and effectively when it matters most.
The successful Candidate:
The successful candidate will be a committed and professional firefighter with proven experience of operating in a structured and disciplined emergency response environment. You will be confident working under pressure, demonstrating strong situational awareness and the ability to make effective decisions in dynamic, time-critical situations. A team-focused approach is essential, with the ability to communicate clearly and work cohesively within an established command structure while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational performance.
You will demonstrate a strong understanding of operational readiness, taking personal responsibility for maintaining equipment, reporting defects, and ensuring you are always prepared to respond. Experience of working collaboratively within a multi-agency environment will be important, alongside a positive attitude toward training, development, and continuous improvement. You must also be able to meet the physical demands of the role, maintaining the fitness, resilience, and professionalism required to perform effectively in a safety-critical aviation setting.
