Overview
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Floor Layer to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers a valuable opportunity to develop practical skills in flooring installation and related trades. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced professionals on various projects, contributing to the creation of durable and aesthetically pleasing flooring solutions. This role is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing a career in construction, carpentry, or specialised flooring work.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and laying of different types of flooring materials, including LVT and carpets.
Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and install flooring components accurately
Follow schematics and technical drawings to ensure precise placement and alignment of flooring products
Support in surface preparation tasks such as levelling, underlay installation, and surface cleaning.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and to high standards

Requirements

interest in construction and willing to learn the trade.
Experience with hand tools and power tools is advantageous but not essential.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Physical fitness to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
A proactive attitude with a strong work ethic
Valid UK driving licence is preferred but not mandatory; reliable transport is beneficial
