Overview
The Import/Export Coordinator is responsible for managing and supporting all export activities to ensure compliance with HMRC. The position ensures that all necessary documentation is accurate, complete, and properly filed for shipments leaving and entering the UK. It also involves coordinating with freight forwarders, purchasing teams, and overseas partners to facilitate smooth and cost-effective shipping operations.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Checking HMRC MSS Export Report
- Chasing Freight Forwarders for Proof of Exports & Export Declarations
- Collating Export Documents to ensure the Company is compliant with HMRC to ensure we have documents for all orders leaving the UK
- To provide cover for the Purchasing Department with Import Clearance Instructions for the Broker and Freight Forwarders where required
- Taking ownership of all shipping invoices to facilitate smooth and cost-effective operations
Specialised skills, knowledge and abilities
- Knowledge of Export/Import Regulations, Logistics and Freight Coordination, Planning and Organizational Skills, Communication and Collaboration.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Effective customer service skills - liaise professionally with both internal and external customers
- Clear and confident verbal and written communication skills
