Full Time
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Immunology and Infectious Diseases (PIID) team at Sheffield Children's Hospital. We are looking for a motivated and experienced paediatrician with sub-specialist training in Immunology and Infectious Diseases to support and further develop our regional tertiary service.
This Consultant post will focus on delivering high-quality care for children with immune deficiencies and complex infectious diseases across South Yorkshire and surrounding areas.
You will provide both inpatient and outpatient care, regional telephone advice, and take part in the Immunology/Infectious Diseases on-call rota. There are no general paediatric or allergy commitments associated with this role.
Please note that while this role is advertised as full time, applications for part-time working would also be warmly received.
Reporting into the Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will include:
Provide inpatient and outpatient care for children with inborn errors of immunity and secondary immune deficiencies.
Participate in a 1:4 telephone advisory service for local Trusts, GPs, Jessop's neonatal unit, and DGHs.
Support delivery of immunoglobulin therapy following national guidelines and attend local/regional immunoglobulin panels.
Share care for children with retroviral infections and those undergoing TB screening and treatment.
Provide OPAT cover and contribute to antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.
Engage with the TRIAC consortium and support Trust-wide service development goals.
