Full job description

Permanent | Full Time (37.5 hours across 3 days per week, Monday–Sunday) The successful candidate will also be required to work some bank holidays | Proposed interview date 08-Jul-2026

As a Porter, you will play a vital role in supporting patients, staff and visitors, ensuring a safe, efficient and welcoming environment. You will be part of a busy team responsible for a range of portering and security duties.

About You

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Teamworking ability and a flexible approach
Ability to follow instructions and work under direction
A pleasant, professional and co‑operative manner when dealing with patients, staff and visitors
Willingness to undertake accredited HAC training in medical gases
Willingness to complete Level 3 Maybo (or equivalent) restraint training

Reporting into the Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:

Provide portering and security services — including the safe removal and disposal of waste, and the movement of equipment, documentation and specimens across the site.

Work in full compliance with Health & Safety, Infection Prevention, Security and all Trust policies and procedures at all times.

Support patients, staff and visitors in a polite, helpful and co‑operative manner, maintaining a professional approach in all interactions.

Work flexibly as part of a team , adapting to service needs and responding to requests promptly and safely.
