Full job description

Parts Department Sales Person

We are currently recruiting for a Parts Department Sales Person to join our existing Parts Department team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and selling machine parts and accessories to new and existing customers. We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and self-motivated individual with a real passion for sales.

We are a long-standing construction machinery dealer and are an Authorised Dealer for Develon and Merlo construction equipment. In addition, we are a UK dealer for Gehl Skid Steers part of the Manitou group and Avant Wheel Loaders. We are located in Dodworth just outside Barnsley and deal nationwide in parts and service.

The business has a wealth of experience within its staff, and is currently wanting to explore new opportunities within the market for a Parts Department Sales Person.

Principal Responsibilities

Increasing sales with new and existing customers
Taking orders in person, over the phone or by email.
Process customer order requests and ensure correct picking, packing and distribution.
Checking availability of parts on computerised stock records.
Dealing with payments
Raising invoices and issuing receipts
Advising customers what part, they might need for their vehicle.

Other Duties may include

Ordering supplies, putting stock away and updating records
Opening and closing of job cards.
Working with others to ensure stock levels are controlled and maintained and adjusted according to market demands.
Receiving and despatching of goods according to company procedure.
To ensure that all parts are received accurately against documentations.
Ensure parts are stored and binned correctly.
To make sure the correct parts and quantities are dispatched as per invoice and delivery notes.
Investigate discrepancies in stock.
Ensure warehouse premises (inside/outside) is always neat and tidy.
To work with our service department to ensure planning of parts and services are well managed to ensure customer satisfaction.

You'll need:

An excellent telephone manner and communication skills.
To be thorough and pay attention to detail.
Customer service skills.
Active listening skills and the ability to work well with others.
The ability to use your initiative.
Sensitivity and understanding.
To be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer. Knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel and Ibcos an advantage

Some experience would be preferred, but training can be given

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
