Link Communication are one of the UK’s leading experiential marketing production teams. We design and build everything from branded sampling stands and uniform kits to full-blown event experiences for big-name clients.
We’ve just moved into a brand-new production HQ in Leeds, and we’re looking for a friendly, practical, get-stuck-in sort of person to join our production crew.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Print & Production Assistant with a strong design background to support our busy design, print, and production teams. This is a hands-on, directly supported role, ideal for someone who enjoys seeing creative work move from screen to finished product.
You will be responsible for preparing artwork for print, operating and maintaining print and finishing equipment, and supporting the wider production process to ensure high-quality outputs are delivered on time and to brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Artwork Preparation for Print
- Set up and prepare artwork files using Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
- Ensure all files meet print specifications including bleed, resolution, colour profiles, formats, and material requirements.
- Adapt and amend artwork to suit different print applications and materials.
Print Queue & Machine Operation
- Operate and assist with the setup, mounting, and maintenance of print equipment including:
- HP printers
- Latex printers
- Summa plot cutters
- DTF printers
- Industrial laminators
- Manage print queues and production schedules to meet deadlines efficiently.
Mock-Ups & Visuals
- Create clear, branded mock-ups and design previews for internal review and client sign-off.
- Ensure mock-ups accurately represent final printed outputs.
Troubleshooting & Application
- Identify and resolve issues between digital artwork and physical production (e.g. scaling, colour discrepancies, material limitations).
- Work closely with designers and production staff to find practical solutions.
Mounting, Finishing & Branding
- Trim, mount, laminate, and finish printed graphics to a high professional standard.
- Apply branding to uniforms using heat presses and finishing equipment, ensuring consistency and quality.
Inventory & Quality Control
- Monitor and manage stock levels of print materials, uniforms, and consumables.
- Carry out quality control checks to ensure all outputs meet brand, colour, and finish standards before dispatch.
Production Support
- Assist with campaign kit preparation, production builds, and occasional on-site installations when required.
- Support the wider production team during busy periods.
Organisation & Maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient production environment.
- Ensure tools, equipment, files, and materials are properly stored and maintained.
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a design or print-related role.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Proven experience setting up artwork for print.
- Understanding of large-format print processes and finishing techniques.
- Comfortable working with production machinery and learning new equipment.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across design, print, and production teams.
Desirable (But Not Essential)
- Experience with HP Latex printers and Summa plot cutters.
- Knowledge of DTF printing and industrial laminating.
- Experience working in events, retail, or campaign production environments.
- Full driving licence.
