Are you a natural leader with a passion for sales and developing high-performing teams?

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Subscription Telesales Supervisor to join our Telesales team in Basildon on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys combining team leadership, coaching and performance management with hands-on selling in a fast-paced, rewarding sales environment.

With an impressive OTE of £40,000 per annum, you’ll have the opportunity to directly influence your earnings while leading a dedicated telesales team responsible for growing newspaper, magazine and digital subscriptions across Newsquest’s regional network.

Lead from the front by coaching your team while continuing to develop your own sales skills and results.

What You'll Do

Lead, motivate and support a team of telesales agents, driving performance against sales and activity targets.
Manage day-to-day team performance, including workload allocation, coaching, feedback and development.
Monitor individual and team KPIs, identifying opportunities to improve conversion, productivity and retention.
Deliver regular coaching sessions and support team members in achieving their personal and professional goals.
Personally undertake telesales activity to generate new newspaper, magazine and digital subscriptions and achieve individual sales targets.
Ensure all orders are accurate, genuine and completed with full customer consent.
Monitor order quality, retention performance, cancellation trends and customer feedback to identify improvements.
Produce accurate weekly performance reports with clear commentary and insight.
Support call monitoring and quality assurance processes to maintain high customer service standards.
Ensure customer information is handled correctly in line with company policies and data protection legislation.
Act as a positive ambassador for Newsquest through every customer and team interaction.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience in a telesales, telephone sales or contact centre environment.
Previous experience leading, supervising or coaching a sales team.
Strong personal sales ability with a track record of achieving targets.
Excellent communication, coaching and motivational skills.
A natural ability to inspire others and improve team performance.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to analyse performance data and produce accurate reports.
A positive, target-driven approach with a genuine passion for achieving results.
Comfortable working with sales KPIs including call volumes, conversion rates, retention and quality measures.
Good understanding of compliance, customer consent and data protection requirements.

How Success is Measured

Your success will be measured against a range of performance indicators, including:

Achievement of individual and team subscription sales targets.
Telesales activity levels, including calls made, customer contacts and conversion rates.
Team performance improvement through effective coaching and development.
Order quality, including cancellation rates, complaints and customer satisfaction.
Accuracy and timeliness of reporting and administration.
Ability to create a positive, motivated and high-performing team culture.
