Salary: £26,000 – £34,000 depending on experience

About the Role

Needles & Pins Aerospace manufactures high-quality textile and composite components used in specialist engineering and aerospace applications.

We are looking for a skilled Sewing Machinist to join our production team. This role involves sewing and assembling precision components using industrial sewing machinery, working from patterns, templates and technical instructions.

This is not a clothing or repair role. The work requires accuracy, consistency and pride in workmanship to produce components to defined specifications and tolerances.

What You’ll Be Doing

Sewing and assembling components in line with drawings, patterns and specifications
Operating industrial sewing machines (flatbed, walking foot, cylinder arm or similar)
Measuring, marking and cutting materials accurately
Setting up machines, including thread selection and tension adjustments
Inspecting finished work to ensure consistent quality and accuracy
Following work instructions and production documentation
Reporting defects or material issues
Maintaining a clean and organised work area

What We’re Looking For

Essential

Experience as a sewing machinist, seamstress or textile assembler
Ability to work from patterns, templates or technical instructions
Strong attention to detail and consistent stitch quality
Experience using industrial sewing machines
Reliable, organised and able to work as part of a team

Desirable

Experience in upholstery, leather goods, bridal wear or technical textiles
Experience working with specialist or engineered materials
Basic machine setup knowledge (threading, tension, adjustments)
Experience in a manufacturing or quality-controlled environment
