We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team.
Overall function and description of the job:
To co-ordinate and carry out routine testing of materials and a day-to-day basis. To determinate whether the technical requirements of products are being met. Provide support to the QA manager and the Technical Team as required.
Main duties:
- Collect samples from production areas across the plant
- Sort, check, and prepare samples for testing
- Allocate and plan laboratory tests efficiently
- Carry out routine laboratory tests accurately and consistently
- Develop an understanding of non-routine laboratory testing
- Prepare samples in accordance with laboratory standards and procedures
- Compare test results against established specifications and requirements
- Record and maintain accurate test data and company records
- Release materials through the SAP system once all required tests have passed
- Produce Certificates of Conformity for standard products and ensure they are distributed appropriately
- Report any test failures to the Lead Laboratory Technician and QA Manager, carrying out additional or repeat testing when required
- Maintain laboratory, testing, and sample preparation areas in a clean and organised condition
- Identify equipment maintenance requirements and communicate the need for consumables or tool replacements
Requirements:
Essential Skills & Experience
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Confident using computers, including spreadsheets, word processing software, and ERP systems
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Good numeracy and literacy skills for completing company records and following procedures
- Awareness and understanding of current health & safety practices and procedures
